IVACS Visiting Researcher –Teresa Jenke

Teresa JenkeGerman postgraduate student, Teresa Jenke, based at the University of Jena, has been awarded a DAAD scholarship to work within the IVACS research centre at Mary Immaculate College. This will allow her access to the Limerick Corpus of Irish English. Her thesis will focus on Discourse Markers in Irish English.

Teresa had already spent her Erasmus year at MIC. Commenting on her award, she said, “After having spent an Erasmus year in Limerick in 2009/10, I am looking forward to return to MIC to write my thesis on Irish English. It is a great chance to work within the IVACS research centre in order to gain skills in Corpus Linguistics and to have access to the Limerick Corpus of Irish English.
